Hello all!!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving break! We want to take some time this week to give you an update on us. For the past few days, our founder, Martha Mtegha, has been traveling around Europe to find new Nomads (independent artists) to add to Ark + Nomad. One of the first places she went scouting was in Lisbon, Portugal at the 2016 Stylista Winter Market. 

These trips are necessary because we care! We, at Ark and Nomad, take the responsibility to provide quality products that are made well, ethically, and have a unique flare that you may have never seen before. In order to guarantee such service, we travel to hand curate our Ark and Nomad collection. This way, we even get to meet the independent artists themselves and get the full story on the products from the makers, to share with you! Pictured below is Martha (center) with the creative minds behind Mel Jewel, which we've just picked up for Ark + Nomad.

It's officially holiday season! Every holiday, picking out gifts for your loved ones seems to be a daunting task. You want to get something fun and thoughtful, but you also don't want to repeat the gifts that you have given in the past. We have all been through that vicious cycle and we hope this post will help you break it this year! Here are three gift ideas that will hopefully put a warm smile on everyone's faces:

Tea Kit

If someone close to you enjoys their daily tea, you can make that time for them a tad bit more extra special by making a tea kit! It's simple! You'll want to get a nice large mug, fancy spoon, their favorite tea (of course!), tea strainer, and possibly a small jar of honey or sugar cubes. Or, to switch it up a little bit, you could make your favorite granola and fill up the jar with that! The possibilities are endless, as long as you have a jar, you're good! Pamper Ready

Everyone loves to end their day with a self care pamper session. Whether it's their skincare routine, or just moisturizing after a shower, we all do something to get us in the mood for our well deserved sleep. You can help someone out by doing the hard work for them! Similar to the Tea Kit, all you need to do is buy two or more of these products: face mask, lotion, towel, book, pillowcase, bedside lantern, body soap, eye cream, facial serum, etc. Then, wrap it up in a gift box, tie a big ribbon around it, and there you have it - pamper session in a box! (Product Ideas: White Tea and Yuzu Soap, Mega Greens Galaxy Pack, Insect Glass Lantern, Tamanu + Wild Citrus Cleansing Oil)

Ark + Nomad is the online destination for unique fashion accessories, homeware, and décor, designed and produced by independent artists from around the world. Our founder, Martha Mtegha, had a vision to provide a marketplace for one-of-a-kind pieces for the discerning customer while supporting independent artists, which then became Ark + Nomads mission.

By getting together with Jo Davies from England, Leg Studios , Love Milo, Modern Gesture, and Roche Rubber from South Africa, we give these artists a platform to share their creations with the world via the internet. As Ark + Nomad grows as a brand, we will introduce you to even more creatives from around the world and expand our reach. We strongly believe in each creators vision, quality of work, and thoughtful design perspective. Their artistic expressions inspire us to be creative in our own ways and live a life where peace and spontaneity can coexist.
